Schools Rock to READY Colorado Message

Rockin' Radio Disney assemblies were held at ten Denver metro area schools to teach elementary age children about how to help their families prepare for weather and flu emergencies.

In addition to the enthusiastic assemblies, schools received a ready kit for each classroom. The kits contain food, water, blankets and other preparedness supplies in the event that students and teachers are required to shelter at the school or evacuate to a safer location.

The "School is Ready" outreach program began as a joint READYColorado and North Central Region Citizen Corps pilot project last year and expanded from five to ten schools. READYColorado anticipates that the program will continue to grow. Music, dancing and learning...what could be better?
