Where Should The Music System Be Kept?
Music systems like hi-fi and stereo are a good leisure resource, a means by which music previously difficult to access and performers who once had limited audiences have been made widely available. Fine music and musicians, once heard only by aristocrats at court performances, or in auditoriums and folk songs once brought only to local towns by strolling country artisans and musicians, can now be heard almost anywhere and at almost any time by anyone relatively at a low price of an audio or video tape. Home libraries of the finest music can provide a good collection of popular hits, poetry readings and speech of history-making importance in small packs in the form of an audio or video cassette discs. The number of people with a taste of pre-recorded entertainment has increased gently as the quality of the equipment has improved and as prices have dropped to a level many can afford.
Today millions of people buy the needed equipments and spend many hours enjoying it. Home record parties, evening get-togethers, musicals and dances, celebrations of birthdays, anniversaries and similar events, call for the use of the electronic equipment and tape libraries are needed for these activities and are therefore, important new factors in home decorating. While including musical equipments as a part of the interior decoration, they must be housed with an eye to its appearance and an ear to its acoustical needs. The cassette player and the tapes / compact disc must be stored comfortably and a favorable listening environment must be created. Fortunately, the audio / video players, speakers, amplifiers, and tuners lend themselves to a number of satisfactory arrangements. They may be treated as separate components and placed on open shelves or concealed in cabinets. They may be concentrated in one room or scattered throughout a number of rooms.
