Bungalow
Bungalow concept is an old one or for those who have unlimited money and have a desire to live lavishly with nature. The plot size is very large in comparison to covered area. The covered area which is the composition of various functional areas as per the need of each family member is quite large in comparison to minimum required functional area. Bungalow is generally single-storied building having baradari on roof to enjoy various seasons.
Here landscape is also given a great importance to create external natural environment which has a direct impact on internal environment. Generally, a larger open area is left on East and North side to enjoy more and develop landscape in better way. Sometimes according to the type of job or job profile they use to develop a small part of the Bungalow as an office and they provide out homes for the workers who are responsible to support them to carry out their day-to-day works.
The area of plot for such Bungalow is more than one care of land but even some Bungalows have less area due to economical part of investment and maintenance. Generally, word house is dwelling for people of middle income group. For such dwellings are of plot is between 200 sq.m. to 500 sq.m. and even area may be more but if this house has double or more than double area of covered area, then people also call it Bungalow and at the same time if it is only for one family to live. It is very possible that if a larger open area is provided then required covered area may be built up on ground and first floor.
The total covered area is generally 50% of the total plot area. Under the modern planning of locality there is one wide road in front and on back there is service lane from where even an owner can take the secondary entry. As per the size of the plot house has open area on all the four sides. Here front setback is larger than back and one side setback is larger than the other setback. Generally open drains, sewer line or other services are through the other width of side setback and generally it is on south or west side.
